BII Awareness Campaign

Breast Implant Illness

Some breast implant patients report a variety of systemic symptoms which may not meet the diagnostic criteria to be categorized as a disease.  Patients refer to these symptoms collectively as Breast Implant Illness (BII). In some cases, patients report that removal of their breast implants, without replacement, reverse their symptoms.

Because BII is a self diagnosed illness, many in the BII community agree that symptoms can emerge in a variety of ways and are likely linked to pre-disposed conditions and genetics.
